Our mission is to equip children, families, and educators with the tools and resources they need to develop emotional resilience, build self-confidence, and navigate life’s challenges with strength and understanding.

Our vision is to create a world where every child grows up feeling secure, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.

How Brave Beginnings Started

Katia Grobecker, founder of Brave Beginnings, is dedicated to supporting the mental well-being of young people. With a background in paediatric nursing and child and adolescent mental health, Katia brings a compassionate, clinically informed perspective to her work.

She is trained in Lego-Based Therapy and holds qualifications in low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ensuring that Brave Beginnings’ resources are accessible, practical, and specific needs of children and teens.

Katia’s career spans New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, where she has worked with diverse communities to provide inclusive mental health support.

Her mission is to make mental health support available to every family, regardless of their circumstances or background, empowering children to build resilience and emotional confidence.

We create a safe space for children to explore their emotions, develop confidence, and strengthen their sense of self.
